Pregnancy Ultrasound scans (Canine/Feline)

We provide the ultrasound scan in the comfort of your own home as it provides a much more relaxing and less stressful experience for your dog.
The ultrasound will allow us to confirm pregnancy and give you an estimated litter number. The optimum time to estimate the number of puppies and due date is between 28-35 days post mating.
After the initial scan at 4 weeks we also offer reassurance scans after 7weeks gestation. We can monitor the foetus's progression during pregnancy. Which means we can see your litters heartbeats, movements, spine and internal organs. It's always nice to have another sneaky peek into your pets pregnancy to make sure all is as should be.
Ultrasound scanning is non-invasive, painless and safe. Your bitch’s wellbeing is our priority. We use a water based gel that is safe to use on the abdomen and our equipment is sanitised after every use to prevent cross contamination and spread of infection.
I use a mobile VIS Scan+ to perform scans – this state of the art equipment offers superior image quality optimised for pregnancy detection and complies with international standards on ultrasonic safety.
I am qualified for safe and effective use of ultrasound in dog pregnancy, trained on a one to one by the amazing Catherine Stowell. The only company recognised by the (AUA) Animal Ultrasound Association.
We can measure the puppies gestation a few ways in ultrasound Scanning.
The four main Indicators used for Gestational Age are:

Gestational Sac (GS):
This is the measurement of the full gestational sac and is most accurate during the early stages of pregnancy (26-35 days)

Crown-Rump Length (CRL):
This measures the size of a developing fetus from the top of its head (crown) to the base of its buttocks (rump). Although this becomes difficult to measure as the fetus grows too large for the screen.
